The Beginning \u2014 2024<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The story of the Fraternity of Fathers and Sons Outreach (FOFASO) began with an idea: that men and boys deserve spaces where they can be supported, guided, empowered, and encouraged to become responsible contributors to their families and communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 6 September 2024<\/strong>, that idea took its first formal step when Walusimbi Joshua<\/strong> brought forward the vision of establishing an organization dedicated to empowering men and boys, strengthening families, promoting positive values, and contributing to meaningful social change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What began as an idea soon became a collective undertaking. Joshua was joined by a group of individuals who shared the belief that supporting men and boys is an important part of building stronger families and healthier communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Founding FOFASO<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

FOFASO was founded by Walusimbi Joshua, Asiimwe Martin, Muwanguzi Gracious, Nalutaaya Anisha, Mugume Kennedy, Ssemugenyi Fred, Namugaya Lilian, Nakamate Jemima, Tumusiime Kasimu, and Welishe Abdu<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Together, the founding team began shaping the organization’s identity, purpose, principles, and long-term direction. The early work focused on establishing a foundation from which FOFASO could grow into a structured organization capable of serving communities and responding to challenges affecting men, boys, families, and society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the beginning, FOFASO was conceived not simply as an organization for men, but as an organization that recognizes the importance of mutual respect, gender equality, family responsibility, child protection, human dignity, and positive social development<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Growing the Team<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As the vision developed, FOFASO welcomed new members who strengthened its growing team. Wangwe Hilary, Lambert Brian, and Linda Carol<\/strong> later joined the organization and contributed to its continued development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The growing team brought new perspectives, skills, and energy to FOFASO as the organization continued to define its programs and prepare for a broader role in the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This period was important in transforming FOFASO from an idea shared by a small group of founders into an organization with a developing structure, leadership and program vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Building the Organization<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As FOFASO matured, attention increasingly turned toward building the systems and structures necessary for sustainable community work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The organization began developing its areas of intervention around issues affecting boys, men, families, education, mentorship, responsible fatherhood, violence prevention, environmental responsibility, and community empowerment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The guiding principle remained clear: empowering individuals can contribute to stronger families, stronger communities, and a stronger society.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

FOFASO also began developing a broader vision for working with schools, communities, institutions, professionals, partners, and other stakeholders to address social challenges through education, mentorship, outreach, research, advocacy, and practical community initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Formal Registration<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A significant milestone in FOFASO’s journey came with its formal registration in Uganda as a Company Limited by Guarantee (CLG) with the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB)<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This step provided FOFASO with a formal legal foundation from which to develop its operations, establish partnerships, mobilize resources, and pursue its long-term objectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the organization is currently established as a Company Limited by Guarantee, FOFASO intends to pursue registration as a non-governmental organization (NGO)<\/strong> as its programs, partnerships, institutional capacity, and community impact continue to grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FOFASO Today<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Today, FOFASO continues to build upon the vision that inspired its establishment in 2024. The organization is developing programs and initiatives aimed at empowering boys and men, strengthening families, promoting responsible citizenship, supporting vulnerable communities, and contributing to positive social and environmental change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    From its beginnings as an idea in 2024 to its development as a formally registered organization, FOFASO’s journey has been one of vision, collaboration, learning, and continuous growth<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Looking Ahead<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    FOFASO recognizes that its history is still being written.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The organization looks forward to expanding its programs, strengthening its institutional capacity, building meaningful partnerships, reaching more communities, and developing initiatives that create lasting impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The journey that began on 6 September 2024<\/strong> continues with a commitment to building a future in which boys and men are empowered to thrive, families are strengthened, communities are supported, and every person is treated with dignity and respect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
